Julia Maddison

Julia takes a wry look at society's often skewed views of women; the labels put on them, the baggage (physical and mental) that they are weighed down with, the peculiar expectations that men often seem to have of women. Using old photographs, text, embroidery and found objects, she makes images and installations about the confused, confusing and often nonsensical roles foisted upon women.
