Kani Kaml

 

Addressing violence against women and their oppression, Kani Kaml’s work is a reaction to patriarchy. By using organic materials such as hair - and most of the time her own hair – Kani explores themes of power, gender and fetish.

Through the transformation from natural material to work of art, she exposes the relationship between nature and culture, and the construction of gender in our society.
