Welcome to The Experiment! As part of a psychological research project, you and nineteen other recruits will be divided up into prisoners and guards. In a controlled penitentiary-like environment, "Prisoners" are incarcerated and ordered to obey rules, "Guards" are instructed to keep order. You will be thrown into an examination of the effects of assigned roles, power and control. But it's just a simulation. Or is it?

What happens when all of your human rights are taken away? How would you react if you've been handed complete control over others that have nothing?

Laden with police processes and signage, The Old Police Station is an archeology of institutional structures with six prisoner’s cells, police gym, operations yard and police offices.

The new artist-run project now comprises 30 artist studios, gallery and rehearsal space and independent project spaces.

As the Old Police Station has been cleared of violence and submission to power, we will exorcise the building from its past and celebrate its birth with a new creative identity.
